Flower Study

May 2016

The goal of this project was to draw something organic, but could be composed and designed in any way. I love drawing flowers, and took inspiration from Georgia O’Keeffe’s compositions by focusing on a closeup of a flower. The finished piece is based on an actual amaryllis I owned and took a reference photo of. I later gifted this piece to my great-grandma, who I inherited my love of plants from. I used colored pencils on white paper, and the finished piece is 14”x17.”
